Health and Safety
Insurance
All clients are required to arrange their own all-risk comprehensive travel insurance and medical emergency insurance. Insurance should cover cancellation, curtailment, emergency medical assistance, evacuation, repatriation, supplier failure where available, force majeure where available, trip interruption, and property loss or damage. Credit-card bundled travel insurance is often not sufficient for remote travel. Failure to purchase adequate insurance exposes you to unnecessary risk and may affect refunds or compensation.
Health Requirements
You are responsible for checking vaccination, entry, transit, and health requirements for your destination, transit countries, and home country. Requirements may change at short notice. If your trip includes areas where malaria is present, consult your doctor, pharmacist, or travel clinic about anti-malaria medication. You are responsible for bringing prescription medication and personal medical supplies you may need.
If you have medical conditions, allergies, mobility issues, disabilities, or other conditions that may affect your participation, tell Wild Roots Expeditions before travel and include the information on your booking form. Wild Roots Expeditions accepts no responsibility for medical conditions, illnesses, or related incidents that occur during your trip, even if informed in advance.
Dietary Requirements
You must inform Wild Roots Expeditions in advance of dietary requirements, food allergies, or foods you do not eat. Reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate dietary needs, but remote locations may not always be able to cater to strict alternative or religious diets. Wild Roots Expeditions is not responsible for special dietary requests that were not disclosed in advance.
Indemnity and Limitation of Liability
Travel inherently involves risk. By booking a safari, expedition, or travel service with Wild Roots Expeditions, you acknowledge and accept those risks and voluntarily assume responsibility for risks before, during, and after your trip. These may include accidents, acts of nature, disease outbreaks, injury or illness, hospitalization, quarantine, crime, theft, delays, missed flights or connections, denied boarding, itinerary changes, cancellations, and disruption to travel plans.
Participation in any tour or activity is undertaken at your own risk. You are responsible for ensuring that you have comprehensive travel insurance, including medical expenses, emergency evacuation, repatriation, trip interruption or cancellation, and property loss or damage.
Travel Documents
You are responsible for having all required travel documents, including a valid passport, visas, flight tickets, proof of vaccination where applicable, insurance policy documents, and sufficient funds. Passports should usually be valid for at least six months beyond the travel date and have enough blank visa pages for each destination. Visa policies, health regulations, airline rules, and immigration requirements may change at short notice, and you are responsible for checking them before departure.
Requirements for Children
Children may require additional documents depending on nationality, destination, and whether they travel with one or both parents or guardians. These documents may include a full birth certificate, parental consent affidavit, custody order, death certificate, or adoption documents. Check requirements well in advance.
